NEVER PULL A LION’S TAIL

Never pull a lion’s tail,

For if you do, you will not fail

To get its very strict attention,

Resulting in—I best not mention.

Do not chance to shake its hand,

For if you do, please understand,

I would not be a bit surprised

For it to act uncivilized.

Never pet it on the head,

Unless you want to wake up dead.

Please don’t whisper in its ear,

For heavens sake, don’t go that near!

But if you want to try one day,

Make sure that I am far away.
